Is this an official Starlink tool?
No. Starlink Calculator is independent and not affiliated with Starlink or SpaceX. For account help, orders, and official plan details, use Starlink.com.
Do you collect my calculator inputs?
No. The math runs in your browser. Inputs are not uploaded. See the privacy page. This build does not include Google Analytics.
Does the result guarantee Starlink speeds?
No. Results are planning estimates from published assumptions on this site. Real Starlink performance varies by location, congestion, hardware, and time. Always check expectations for your address on Starlink.com.
Why focus on concurrent / peak usage?
Household pain usually shows up when several activities overlap — evening streams plus a video call plus a game download. Peak simultaneous load is a better planning signal than “how many devices exist.”
Devices vs active usage — what’s the difference?
Device counts feed a small background allowance (idle phones, smart home chatter). The peak usage mix (HD/4K, calls, gaming, downloads, camera uploads) models what is actively burning bandwidth at once. Both matter; active mix usually dominates.
Why don’t you show Starlink plan prices or tier names?
Plans and pricing change and are address-specific. Inventing fake Mbps product tiers or dollar amounts would mislead people. We show estimated demand and qualitative estimator bands, then send you to Starlink.com for live Residential options.
Can I run Plex for remote friends on Starlink?
Often residential service uses CGNAT, which blocks easy inbound access to a home IP. Upload is also limited for multiple remote streams. See How to set up a VPS if you want Plex over Starlink for a high-level relay pattern.
